Niagara Falls Museum Mummy 8
NFM M8

Mummy M8 is also the mummy of a child. The body is now about 95 cm in length. The child appears to have been four years, or possibly a little older, at death.

This small body had been mummified, and the brain removed through the nostril, destroying considerable bone and tissue in the process.

The mummy is at present covered in a bituminous coating, with patches of gold pressed in. This decoration is typically late Greek - early Roman.

The child's mummy has been brought to Canada in NFM Coffin C5, put there by a dealer who realized C5 had been made for a child.
